Once again the Law Office of William Wright LLC has helped a consumer in need. Our client received unsolicited mailings offering mortgage modification or debt resolution services. Induced by the content of the mailings, the client paid significant money to the organization. In New Jersey, only attorneys and specially licensed not-for-profit companies can engage in debt adjustment services. Unfortunately, this organization was not licensed in New Jersey, and the client did not receive the benefit of what they paid for.
Our office fought for the settlement on behalf of our client and with the strength of New Jersey’s Consumer Fraud Act (N.J.S.A. 56:8-1 et seq.) behind us, we were able to resolve the case without having to file a lawsuit.
